Go on safari amongst the beautiful fynbos vegetation of the Garden Route. This tour packs in such diverse highlights, from seeing zebra and elephant on safari to hiking the cliffs along the Indian Ocean, all in five days. This tour starts & ends in Cape Town, and can depart any day of the week.

Tour itinerary:

Day 1: Cape Town – Private Game Reserve

We depart Cape Town early, and make our way to the Garden Route. You will arrive in time for lunch at Gondwana Private Game Reserve, before embarking on an afternoon game drive. Try your luck at spotting the famous African wildlife, such as giraffe, zebra, rhino, or hippo, who live amongst the beautiful coastal fynbos vegetation. In the evening, you can enjoy a relaxed dinner at the reserve restaurant.

Day 2: Private Game Reserve

Today is a full day to enjoy on safari. Go on morning and afternoon game drives, spending time in nature and learning more about the flora and fauna of this area. Midday, you will have time to relax in your room or at the lodge; or for some healthy outdoor exercise, mountain bike trails and guided fynbos walks are available.

Day 3: Private Game Reserve – Wilderness - Knysna

Up early for one more sunrise game drive, this time hoping to spot some of the more nocturnal animals, such as lion. After breakfast, we will check out of the game reserve and make our way into the heart of the Garden Route, Knysna. This stretch of coast is known for its lovely scenery, including indigenous forest, a large warm-water estuary, and the Outeniqua Mountains.

Day 4: Knysna - Tsitsikamma – Plettenberg Bay

After breakfast, off to Tsitsikamma National Park. The day will be spent in the park, with its unique combination of indigenous forest and beautiful Indian Ocean coastline. The park has a wide choice of activities for all, including hiking, crossing a suspension bridge, and swimming. In the afternoon we travel back via the beautiful town of Plettenberg Bay.

Day 5: Knysna – Oudtshoorn - Cape Town (via Route 62)

On our final touring day, we make our way back to Cape Town via the scenic route 62. We travel over the Outeniqua Mountain Pass, and into the Klein Karoo at Oudtshoorn, known as the Ostrich capital of the world. Enjoy the small-town charm of the Klein Karoo, before finishing the tour in Cape Town in the early evening. (Guests could alternatively finish their tour in George, and book a one-way flight to Cape Town or Johannesburg.)
