Earthstompers and Cape Food & Wine Tours love Boschendal Farm. They just have it all!
Located about 1 hour’s drive from Cape Town, Boschendal is a working farm situated in the stunning wine region of Franschhoek. This farm has it’s own Deli, Bakery and Butchery with all produce sold coming straight from the farm! They also have a stunning restaurant on site, The Werf Restaurant, overlooking the vegetable gardens and fruit orchards where salad and vegetables are freshly picked. Werf is a farm-to-table restaurant and about 90% of the produce comes from the farm. Other Boschendal offerings include mountain biking trails, wine tasting experiences, cellar/ vineyard and farm tours, horse riding, spa days and the venue is also beautifully suited for functions and workshops.
On arrival you are blown away by the vast amount of green open space, leafy trees and gardens surrounded by mountains. Greeted by friendly staff at the entrance, you drive past massive shaded lawns that come alive with markets and picnics over weekends and lunch times. The perfect venue to enjoy the striking beauty of the Winelands, submerged in the natural surroundings AND enjoying fantastic food!! Pre-packed picnic baskets are available to enjoy on the lawns, often combined with some local live music. What a combo!
Little ones? They even thought of that! Boschendal is perfect for families. The grounds boast a stunning new play area for the kiddos, appropriately named, The Tree House ๐ They even offer workshops, Jungle Gym, pump tract and so much more to entertain the little ones.
Besides all of what I already mentioned, they also offer a great variety of accommodation options. Hendrik, Chrissy and myself did a site inspection of a few of the cottages and boy did it exceeded my expectations by a mile!
